Is the sensitive text permanently removed from the file?
The text is covered with an opaque black rectangle so it cannot be read visually. The underlying PDF text layer may still be present in the file structure. For legally certified redaction, use professional redaction software.
What if my PDF is scanned or image-based?
Scanned PDFs have no text layer, so the tool cannot locate terms to redact. Run OCR PDF first to create a text layer, then redact.
Does case sensitivity matter?
By default, matching is case insensitive — "John Smith" will match "john smith" and "JOHN SMITH". Uncheck the option to match exact case only.
Can I redact multiple different terms at once?
