Frequently Asked Questions
How is Extract PDF Pages different from Split PDF?
Split PDF divides a document into multiple separate files — one file per page or one file per range. Extract PDF Pages does the opposite: you pick whichever pages you want (e.g. pages 1, 3, 7–9) and get back a single PDF containing only those pages in the same order. It's the right tool when you want a subset of a document as one combined file.
Can I type page ranges instead of clicking?
Yes. Use the range input at the top of the page picker and type ranges like "1-3, 5, 8-10" then click Apply. This selects pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10. You can mix single pages and ranges in the same input. Clicking page buttons and typing ranges both work together — they update the same selection.
Will the extracted pages be in the order I selected them?
The extracted PDF contains the pages in their original document order, sorted numerically. So if you select pages 8, 3, and 1, the output PDF will have page 1 first, then page 3, then page 8. If you need a custom order, use the Rearrange Pages tool after extracting.
Will my file be uploaded to any server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly (WASM). Your PDF never leaves your device. You can even go offline after the page loads and it will still work.
Is there a page count limit?
No. You can extract from PDFs of any length — the tool runs entirely in your browser so there is no server-side restriction. Very large PDFs may take a few extra seconds to load.
Can I extract from a password-protected PDF?
Remove the password first using the PDF Password Remover on this site, then come back here to extract the pages you need.
